Kindergarten Program

At Inglewood Childcare and Kindergarten, the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG) is embedded into our long day care program through the expertise of our qualified early childhood teacher. Guided by the QKLG, our kindergarten program provides children in the year before Prep with rich, play-based learning experiences that nurture their confidence, communication, and early literacy and numeracy skills. In alignment with our philosophy, we respect each child’s individuality, culture, and family background, ensuring that the program is inclusive and responsive to diverse needs. The qualified teacher uses intentional teaching strategies alongside child-initiated exploration, balancing structured learning with opportunities for discovery and creativity. Families are recognised as children’s first educators, and we actively involve them in the program to strengthen continuity of learning and wellbeing. By embedding the QKLG within our warm, safe, and stimulating environment, we ensure that children not only develop holistically—socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively—but are also well-prepared for a smooth transition to school, while feeling a strong sense of belonging, being, and becoming.
