The early years of a child’s life is busy and I believe that this stage is a child’s life is very important. I believe this stage of a child’s life is intertwined through all the development area of physical, social/emotional, cognitive and communication.  I believe in and follow Piaget’s theories. Piaget believes Children learn in different ways at different ages. He believes that children are little researches and need to be able to see, touch, taste, smell move and hear the things they are learning about. I have a strong passion for caring and educating children and I believe that children learn through play. I strive to create a loving, calm and fun atmosphere for the children to feel safe, explore, discover and create their own imagine in their own time. I believe each child’s family knows their child best and working in a partnership and collaborating with families is very important.
In my planning I strive to create a developmentally appropriate, child- centred atmosphere where children have the opportunity to master new challenges through learning experiences that are meaningful to them and build their self-esteem as they develop and learn.

The children are the future, and I personally believe that we need to nurture, educate, and appreciate children as they grow to be members of our community.  I strive for a play-based learning environment each day, allowing the children to explore and engage in the environment around them. Providing opportunities for the children to have input in their learning as well as family involvement, community connections and first nations appreciation.  I believe that through communication, play and intentional teaching we can support the children to grow as they become confident learners, ready to positively influence the world around them.  I believe that through child-centred learning, we can support the children’s development through play, with collaborative learning, self-regulation, and scaffolding.  Children have the right to quality care and education, and I believe that we are able to provide this through our service.

I believe that the early years of a child’s life lay the foundation for a child’s sense of belonging, being and becoming. I believe learning is happening all the time and occurs without the child even knowing it is happening.  I aim to develop secure and relationships between all children, families, and educators through open, honest, and effective communication.  Learning through play provides opportunities for children to learn as they discover, create, improvise, and imagine. When children play with other children they create, social groups, test out ideas, challenge each other’s thinking and build new understanding.  In my planning cycle I like to follow both Bowly’s and Gesell’s theories.  Bowly believes that when a familiar caregiver responds warmly and consistently to young children the form strong self-identities and emotional bonds. This is important for healthy emotional and social development.  Gesell believes that brain development, gross motor and fine motor capabilities occur most automatically, without learning or instruction.

The early learning years of a child’s life is important part of there lives. I will thrive to value and help develop each child’s strength, interest, skills, abilities, and knowledge to extend their learning. I will thrive to build a safe and secure connection and relationship with each child in care.  It is important to be in a partnership with each child family so we can understand each other, the family’s expectations and the child’s needs and wants.  I believe in piaget’s theories, he believes that children need to be able to see, touch, taste, smell, move, and hear the things they are learning about. I believe children learn thru play. Each child can learn in different ways, different times, and places.

I believe that secure, respectful and reciprocal relationships provide children with a secure base for exploration and learning. Positive relationships help children to learn about their responsibility to others, to appreciate their connectedness and interdependence as learnings. Brofenbrenner believes that fostering positive relationships with children and their families is vital to the development of children. The way we interact with and support those families will affect the child’s development.  Families are children’s first and most influential teachers. Partnership are based on the foundation of understanding each other’s expectations and attitudes and build on the strengths of each other’s knowledge.  I believe that sense of wellbeing in children incorporates both physical and psychological aspects and is central to belonging, being and becoming. Being healthy, well rested and free of illness assists children to be able to participate happily and successfully in their environment.

I believe each child is an individual and as an educator, I will value and develop each child’s strengths, interests, skills, abilities, and knowledge. I believe each child is unique with different interests, backgrounds, and developmental stages. I believe that children learn through play. I will provide opportunities for children to explore, discover, create and imagine. I believe children are motivated to learn when they have opportunities to make choices in their environment that is enriching and stimulating.  Children are curious from infancy and have a desire to learn from their environment and those around them.  My goal as an educator is to provide children with a rich environment where they feel safe to explore, initiate learning and feel free to express themselves As an educator, I seek to form close relationships with all children under my care, and their families. I strive to provide an environment where children and families from different cultural backgrounds feel welcomed and accepted.
