Starting Child Care - Checklist

As your child is due to start care soon, we wanted to reach out with a few things that you will need to know. We have put together a list so that you know what to pack on your child’s first day at care.

Backpack

Please ensure that all items are labels with your child’s name.

  • Water Bottle
  • Hat (Sun Safe)
  • Lunch Box
o Please pack enough Healthy food and snacks for 3 mealtimes (Morning Tea, Lunch and Afternoon Tea)
o A fruit option, a yogurt and a sandwich is always a great place to start.
o We are a NUT FREE centre, so please refrain from packing nuts or nut-based products in the Lunchbox.
  • Clothes
o We recommend always keeping a minimum of 2 changes of clothes in the children’s bag, these items should be in line with our sun safe dress policy (No singlets or ruffled sleeve).
o These can be kept in a separate pocket or even in a small bag within the child’s backpack.

    o A Cot Fitted Sheet
    o A Blanket

Additional Items

What your first morning looks like

A flexible run down of what the first morning will be like. On your child's first day please come through to the office, where we will greet you and provide you with the code needed to sign in. The educator will then take you to your child’s room and make introductions of the educators and ensure you are supported in dropping off. Please keep in mind that this looks different for each child and that the educators are there to support your child transitioning into the new space as well as yourself.

Once drop off is complete, an educator will take you through the sign in process which takes place in the foyer. If you have already signed up to our Kinderm8 platform you will be provided with a Daily Report at around 1-2pm detailing what the room has gotten up to that day.

We are looking forward to having your child join us, and we welcome your family to our Service Community.
